Bateria Park was originally a military base in the 1940’s but has now been developed into a  lovely park and recreation area. The spectacular Alameda Botanic Gardens were first opened to the public in 1816. There is an extensive and beautiful collection of plants and trees. Most of the plants on display are of native origin whilst others have been imported. There is a small wildlife park located within the actual gardens. Admission is free and they are open from 8am to 9pm or sunset. There is also a play area for the kids.

Estepona has a fantastic promenade which runs the length of the town. You can enjoy the great kids play areas, exercise equipment, statues, fountains, rides, restaurants and shops.

This park, known as the Pirate Ship park, was opened in 2009 and has an enormous pirate ship play area surrounded by a soft flooring moulded into waves, which kids love running around on. There is a cafe next to it so that you can sit and watch the kids play. Around the corner is another flat play area good for bikes, skates and scooters and it is just minutes walk through to the beach. There is a market on Sundays so parking can be a bit more difficult.  Just off the N340 beachside, opposite Miramar Commercial Centre – lookout for the red and white flags. Play areas are free.

Sould Park is located on the sea front in Fuengirola and is a kids play area. It is run by a Barcelona based company which operates children’s parks throughout Spain from attractions to amusement rides.
