CUEVA DE LA PILETA, RONDA

This cave was discovered in 1905 in the mountainous region of Ronda in the municipality of Benaojan. The importance of the paintings here meant it was declared a National Monument in 1924. There are large spaces, a cyrstal lake and the Great Chasm looking into the abyss at the bottom. The oldest paintings are animals and signs first dating back to 30,000BC.

Tickets are between €5-€8 and must be reserved by telephone in advance.
